I am the director of the shepherd group ministry. This ministry is to insure
that every person that regularly attends this church will know they are needed
,cared about and important to our church body and that everyone has a work to
do. The steps we take to accomplish this takes a lot of people . My job is to
recruit shepherd group leaders, each leader has a group of sheep to take care
of, the leaders will check on their sheep , if they are sick, need someone to
talk to , or if they miss church services they are called and visits are made to
insure them that their shepherd cares about their well being. We have 15
different shepherd group leaders and under each leader they have up to 15
families to care for. When new families begin to attend our church I get their
names address and phone numbers and immediately add them to a shepherd leader
and the shepherd begins to get acquainted with the new family. Each group has a
name and every one in each group has a special lapel pin that represents the
name of the group . The first Sunday of every month is wear your pin day and
name tag day, every one gets a name tag as they enter the church so others will
learn your names.
Every 3 months we have shepherd fellowship night at that time we have food ,
games and get acquainted time. I think this is a wonderful ministry and is
making a difference for our church GOD does bless our efforts when we have the
right intention, to increase his kingdom and encourage one another. I appreciate
that he has given me this challenge and I will do my very best for him , he
expects no less. As long as we remember to GOD be the Glory. AMEN
