Our History
Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as the manner of some is; but exhorting one another: and so much the more, as ye see the day approaching. Heb 10:25

“Making a Difference”  So much more than a motto, it was a pledge! A common desire to make a difference in the lives of each other, as well as a community. Inspired by God’s love and for His glory 26 people accepted his calling to begin Cornerstone Freewill Baptist Church in August of 1993.  That same pledge, the same commitment to make a difference,  continues to be the central goal of each and every attendee. God has proven to us time and again that where obedience and faith meet action He will provide increase!

Starting in 1993 “Church” was held in a variety of places. We met in members houses, on back porches, and  in fields. From conference centers to rented buildings, the spirit of God came with us; guiding, teaching, growing, and molding our congregation.

In 1995 we broke ground for our new church building ( now the fellowship hall ). The Lord taught us that although many will criticize, His will shall prevail. Services in this new building started on Christmas Eve, 1995. It was evident that there was love and excitement within our membership, and God began to open the portals of Heaven and bless abundantly.  In a mater of a few short years, we were outgrowing our sanctuary!

In March of 2000 work began on construction for our new sanctuary. All were amazed at how “The people had a mind to work”, as well as the resources that God made readily available. Answering the call to “rise up and build”, we moved into our new beautiful sanctuary on January 28, 2001.

We are a fundamental church, believing that we are saved by His grace, the shed blood of Jesus Christ, and the redemption of our sins. Our people are filled with God’s love and compassion.

Our mission and pledge remain the same today, to be a beacon of light set upon a hill, a soul winning station, everyday “making a difference’.
