Strength
October 22, 2012
Exodus 15:2 says the Lord is my strength, song, and salvation. Strong men (women) were not born with extra strength, day by day, exercise by excercise their strength grew. Such should be the case for us spiritually, we don't gain strength by "Hoping for It". Strength is something that one has to work at to attain (physically or spiritually). Day by day, devotion by devotion, trial by trial, we grow in faith, strength, and hope. If we aspire to be STRONG in the Lord we must determine DAILY to work at our goal. Don't forget that workouts are often followed by soreness and sometimes pain before t ... read more

Some Thoughts To Ponder
October 22, 2012
It seems that the longer I lead a Christian life and dig into the Word of God, the more questions that I have. Maybe its all God's design for His Word to provoke questions, after all you cant get an answer without a question. I think of the key men in the Bible and how different they were. For instance King David was a fighter, but the disciple John was a lover. Peter would cut your ear off over Jesus, but Stephen would cry out and say Father forgive them. All of these men, as well as us, are created in God's image so we cant be too far off from being similar to our Maker. But my question is, ... read more

Philippians 3: 13-14
October 22, 2012
One of my many favorite scriptures in the Bible is Philippians 3:13-14. It says "Brethern, I count not myself to be apprehended: but this one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind, and reaching forth unto those things which are before, I press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus." The one thing that we as Christians cannot do is dwell on our past, it will bury us!! Our thoughts and our minds would eventually be consumed with the things that we cannot change, guilt would overtake us mentally and physically, and we would live a defeated life. P ... read more

Is It Raining Outside Or Is Your Windshield Wet?
October 22, 2012
A man once said to me "is it raining outside or is your windshield wet?". For the longest time I thought about that statement, and then one day I was driving in a storm and I understood what he was saying. We all go through storms in our life. Sometimes we are protected from the rain, hail, sleet, and snow just by staying inside. As it rumbles all around us we have the saftey of God looking out for us. Psalms 56:3 says "What time I am afraid, I will trust in thee". We may be scared but if we sit tight under the protection of a loving God, we have nothing to be afraid of. Other times we are out ... read more

Cut the Rope
October 22, 2012
Have you ever felt like you prayed for God to take care of something for you, but you have been unable to leave it for him to do? It's actually more common than we would think. Since the time of Cain and Abel, people have often wondered about their sacrifice. We have been told stories many times of the priest entering the Holy of Holies in the tabernacle with a rope tied around his waste, just in case he didnt make it. Some of us still approach God the same way, with doubt and fears. We think God may not handle our problems because we havent lived well enough, or dont have as much to offer. So ... read more
