Some Thoughts To Ponder
October 22, 2012
It seems that the longer I lead a Christian life and dig into the Word of God, the more questions that I have. Maybe its all God's design for His Word to provoke questions, after all you cant get an answer without a question. I think of the key men in the Bible and how different they were. For instance King David was a fighter, but the disciple John was a lover. Peter would cut your ear off over Jesus, but Stephen would cry out and say Father forgive them. All of these men, as well as us, are created in God's image so we cant be too far off from being similar to our Maker. But my question is, does God have a specific personality like those men did? When I get up in the morning, I have a routine that I go through. I brush my teeth, take a shower, etc... Does God have a certain routine that He goes through? Does He change His moods like I do? Does He have days that He just wants to stay in His pajama pants all day? If God made us the way we are with our individual personalities, with emotions, feelings, and unique quirks, and we are made in His image, does that mean that He has all of those too? Are there days when he just wants to be quiet and reserved, and are there days when He wants to roll the windows down and sing Toby Mac? Think about the Holy Spirit, there are times in church wherethere is a Spirit of excitement and there are times when there is a somber Spirit where all you can do is cry. There are definetely more thought provoking pieces of God's Word but this is just some questions that I ponder. The book of Ecclesiates always make me think along these lines. Read it for yourself and open your mind to the questions that it porvokes!.....Dusty Cochran
